Re: Wireless point control ?
While not wireless control.... If you're up to soldering components onto a PCB with very good, illustrated instructions to aid construction, then consider joining MERG (Model Electronic Railway Group) and purchasing some of the CBUS kits. For this to work it needs a pair of twisted data wires (7/0.2...
Re: Ballast
Hi Javis produce "Ballast rolls" i.e. a sheet of pre ballasted material that you simply cut to size and place under the track then pin the track down. There are probably other makes available too? Then there is Foam inlay which is supposed to represent the ballast shoulder and ballast unde...

Re: Dc circuit breaker
Hi Your main issue is going to be obtaining a circuit breaker with a low current rating for use on DC. You really don't want anything over 1.6 Amp and ideally 1.0Amp threshold would be the best option for DC track protection. Car/Truck breakers/fuses often don't go that low and using a higher ampera...

Re: Midland Pullman Bachmann 31-255
Hi Tel (sorry re Paul I got confused!) Yes, they do close up on the straight more than tension locks would do. The carriages I have need to be connected together in a certain order to ensure the lights work. I'm unsure if that applies to DC (analogue) stock though, as mine are DCC Fitted by Bachmann...

Re: Baseboard materials?
Wickes sell reasonable timber, but you need to look at each piece to ensure it makes the requirement. B & Q timber if stored correctly and that's the main issue, is OK but again always check each piece. I live in a medium sized town and have at least four or five timber suppliers within a 5 mile...
