Re: Neptune Street

Thanks guys. As a side issue, for once, and something I should have done from the outset when I started this, I’m thinking of spraying the track prior to ballasting. As I don’t have an air brush it has to be a rattle can, but I don’t fancy paying just short of £15 for say a tin of ‘sleeper grime’. C...

Re: Neptune Street

Well, as with the prototype, engineering possession will run beyond the weekend :o . This was the result of three and a half hours work; the bottom tracks are fitted and wired up, most of the time was spend adjusting the levels between the boards, down to the half mm, just to avoid a ‘derailing jump...

Re: Neptune Street

So, as engineers wait to take weekend possession for track laying on the new section…… https://i.postimg.cc/fJmhh53s/IMG-1948.jpg …. a new acquisition simmers for the next fish train (a coal load and crew would help  ) https://i.postimg.cc/D8BRhD2t/IMG-1947.jpg The engine’s actual last shed was...

Re: Neptune Street

Some progress; the lower section has been hinged and clearances checked. https://i.postimg.cc/JHQCz6JX/IMG-1851.jpg As the top section hinges on the left, I might have to rethink the framing to allow the bottom section to clear, or just make it a fully lift out section. https://i.postimg.cc/w184Gcm8...

Re: WEST ORTON

You certainly had the best of the weather. I know the area well, it’s stunning. We visit the hamlet of Hubberholme, just off from Buckden, regularly. In fact one visit I was given a pannier tank by our hosts. Winner winner 😃

Re: Neptune Street

Than you both. WTD - very neat indeed. Steve - well spotted, I’ve cut a recess out so the section will lift past the batten. I’ve had a read of Brian’s online article, it adds further clarity, I have to admit I didn’t know about raising the hinges, but it makes sense now. Hopefully I’ll be back in t...

Re: Neptune Street

Well with day off work it was time to take the bull by the horns; after much ‘not so gentle’ persuasion the so called lift out section was removed…. https://i.postimg.cc/Bj1tmyrj/IMG-1776.jpg …. and a start made on the two hinged sections; the upper level I might just leave as a lift out as it’s onl...
