Re: Has there been a problem with the forum?

Stese is the one to answer this one, but in general terms the initial entry has been toughened up recently. If they get past that, the mods run a couple of additional checks before making a decision.
We chuck out more applicants than we let through.

Re: Has there been a problem with the forum?

Admittedly I am on Android and have the 'remember me' box ticked on the sign in page, but no issues to report regards opening the forum.

Re: WEST ORTON

I am unloading some old stuff through an online auction site and tonight was asked if I would ship to the USA.
No, was the simple reply.

Re: Minic Motorways

According to t'internet, there is no known repository for these. Presumably they were in printed back in the day so may turn up on eBay from time to time .
I couldn't find a collectors club specifically for Minic but there is (or was) a Facebook group.

Isn't Baltic birch ply akin to unobtanium since the Ukraine war started?

Re: Ballast

Loose ballast and the motor transfer gears will eventually mix. They won't play well together.
Not recommended.

Re: Neptune Street

Something without too much height or it will potentially hit the adjacent board when lifted.
I would fill in the open bit where the hinges are maybe an extension of the walling? How about a boarded up tunnel mouth with an abandoned stretch of derelict rail on the lift up section?

Re: Retirement

Congratulations DTB, enjoy your retirement.
I tried it once, didn't get on with it. I found I got very bored and only lasted four years before I took a part time job. I only work four evenings a week so still get the days to do whatever I fancy and, more importantly, I still get an afternoon nap ...

Re: WEST ORTON

Thanks for the links. Not sure my painting could do them justice right now.
I'll get the ones I want (at the right price!! 😜) sooner or later.
No rush.

Re: WEST ORTON

I got my full refund from eBay for the engine sheds so I'm somewhat relieved by that.
I still intend to change the shed setup on the layout but no rush. TMC has a good price on new ones at the moment but I may wait until I'm up there in September. I may not be able to do much on the layout before ...
