Hi all, forgot about this thread! There's been quite a lot of progress since my last post. I've fitted legs to the base board, completed the landscaping and am now adding scenery and buildings.
The scenery is not going as well as I'd like. I am having lots of problems getting consistent cover for the turf (corse on the embankments and fine on the level ground) and ballast. I need to work on my technique and fill in the gaps.
The building positions haven't been fixed and I need to build up around around the bridge with boulders to make it look like a dried up creek. I still haven't decided how to do the mountain top. I'll probably build it up with papier-mache. There will be a disused mine at the end of the siding.
The buildings are from Outland Models. There's still some more detail to paint but I'm quite happy with the finish so far. Here a few vids of the train in motion and a pic.
