I have another project in mind for the layout.
When I built the engine yard I built a couple of engine sheds using cast resin pieces from NuCast. I was quite happy with them but recently I noticed that they are starting to warp, meaning they didn't sit flat on the baseboard. There is clearly some tension in them causing this.
For some time I've been thinking of replacing them but couldn't find a suitable alternative. The best option I decided, was to buy a Bachmann NER engine shed. They often come up on eBay but the price is usually astronomical.
Imagine my surprise yesterday when I managed to bid for not one, but two of them and paid less than £50 each.

That's a very good deal on the engines sheds. I have always admired that shed, but I do not have the room to fit it. Look forward to seeing the pictures.

You won't want to see pictures of these sheds.

Definitely not as described, so I've contacted the seller prior to raising a dispute with eBay.
The seller had a good feedback score but only provided pictures of the boxes, not the contents (yes, I was taking a chance but they were a good price). The descriptions were: : excellent condition, never used on a layout.

In reality, one has been sawn in half and additional parts glued to the cut end. One door pillar has been snapped off and carefully wrapped elsewhere in the box. They've been repainted in green and a scratch built walkway has been added to the roof, also damaged. There is glue all over the outer door pillars at one end.
None of this was mentioned in the original listings.

Let's see if he does the decent thing or if I have to escalate to the dispute process.

No surprise that he didn't reply so the eBay returns/dispute process has started. Giving the feedback will be fun.

I got my full refund from eBay for the engine sheds so I'm somewhat relieved by that.
I still intend to change the shed setup on the layout but no rush. TMC has a good price on new ones at the moment but I may wait until I'm up there in September. I may not be able to do much on the layout before the autumn as I'm waiting for the go ahead for a hand operation - no grip or fine control in my left hand.
Meanwhile, I have rebuilt the Spitfire differential and heaved it back in the car. Relatively successful as I now know which parts are not the source of the noise, and all new shims and bearings removed those as an issue. Unfortunately I did find some wear (and knocking ) in the splined joint between the drive hubs and sun wheels. Guess which parts are no longer available.

If not to your liking, the designer of those two has done many others which you might like.

IIRC you have a resin printer, so you could print on that, or if you like, i'll run them on my FDM for you.
