I model the Pennsylvania railroad in n scale
I try and keep everything as cheap as poss !
I bought a minitrix k4 pacific a few years back but even though everything was as clean and tidy it was always a very erratic runner thats old tech for you !.
Decided to improve running by using a spare diesel loco chassis as the motive power, to enable this I cobbled together a tender body loosely based on what the Pennsy used as long distance tenders so as to fit the chassis. The steam locos motor has been disconnected and now free wheels and it works a treat

Still more to do have added coal load , still more detailing to add eg water hatches etc.
