Hi All,
Is there anywhere / does anyone have a list of which Hornby Locos types have 21 pin sockets fitted?
Does "DCC ready" on a Hornby box mean an 8 pin socket?
Many thanks
Paul

This list seems quite comprehensive, although I can’t vouch for it.

I don't think all DCC ready models had 8 pin sockets, some may have 4 pin or, very recently, 6 pin sockets. 21 pin sockets were used on sound fitted models before the TTS decoders came along.
You could look up the service sheets to see what sockets are fitted. Lendons of Cardiff have a very comprehensive collection that you can look at or download.

DCC Ready means it has a socket fitted with a blanking plate.

R numbers with suffix XS were 21-pin. To suit ESU sound decoders before Hornby went over to TTS 8-pin sound decoders.
