Accurascale class 50, is it worth it?

Honest question, does anyone think the Accurascale class 50 is worth the £££ based on working with DC only?

The only necessity for me personally for my current layout is obviously smooth running, but also working headlights. Sound files, flange squels don't interest me (for now), so looking for any feedback from anyone with DC who has invested in one.

I'm waiting on the next batch release, as I'm tempted for NSE revised livery if it's part of the release, but if not thinking I may just go for a Hornby version.

I have been thinking about buying an Accurascale Class 50 and have come close to pressing the buy button a few times, but the only one that would fit with the era's I model would be in standard BR Blue, although I do confess to liking the Green Edward Elgar version, but it would just be another impulsive buy.

What has stopped me buying is that I already have a BR Blue Hornby class 50 to which I fitted TTS sound, and to be honest it is one of the smoothest running locos on my layout.......if you not going for all the DCC bells and whistles etc, then I am not entirely sure it is really worth the additional investment..........I would imagine there will be many perfectly good Hornby versions coming on to the market at reduced prices.

At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference and financial considerations, however I am sure you will be pretty happy with either version - cheers.
