Hornby Collectors Club 2019

#1

Post by bulleidboy »

I don't know how many forum members are members of the Hornby Collectors Club? They have reintroduced the 10% discount on everything for Club Members. Membership costs £28. One problem is that if you pre-ordered anything in the 2019 releases back in January, you do not get the discount on these orders. I have just cancelled my pre-orders and re-ordered - a saving of £70.00. If you do this, check that the loco is still available before you cancel your pre-order.

According to Collectors Club staff (by phone just now) there is no 10% discount this year. R-

It shows Club discount on the Hornby shop. I have pre-ordered a loco at the reduced price.

For example.

Well done WTD - the 10% has not been available since February 2018 (or shouldn't have been). If you can get it - go for it. R-

As Roger said, the staff say it’s not available and there is nothing on the website to indicate that it’s back in the package, so it looks very much like a glitch.
I didn’t renew last year because the discount disappeared and my remaining pre-orders wouldn’t cover the cost if I tried to rejoin in the hope that the ‘glitch’ remained in place.

Well I've cancelled all of my earlier pre-orders, and ordered again, all at discounted prices, and I have received the confirmatory emails showing the reduced prices - saved me £70.00 :D

I think it is meant to be there and it does mention it on one of the pages.

In the "Sorry this page" etc. text near the top.
