Hi, does anyone have this set and can provide a side on view of the coaches joined as I would like to see how close they couple on a straight.
I am thinking of trying to get a SH set if I like the look together !

Hi Paul
I cant get to the railway room at the moment to check out the Bachmann part number. But I have the original six car Midland Pullman set (DCC Fitted) and you can see a short video of it running here.. https://youtu.be/6VU40FA3AJQ

Thanks Brian, (its Tel BTW not Paul), hard to tell on the corner shot but they look like they might be nice and close on a straight, as I believe they are kinematic connectors that open up on corners ?

Hi Tel (sorry re Paul I got confused!)

Yes, they do close up on the straight more than tension locks would do. The carriages I have need to be connected together in a certain order to ensure the lights work. I'm unsure if that applies to DC (analogue) stock though, as mine are DCC Fitted by Bachmann. I'll see later today if I can take photo or video of the Pullman on the straight for you, so call back later today ;)

Brilliant, thanks Brian :D
Yours sound like they have sound fitted ?
I knew DCC fitted ones where available (or maybe only DCC fitted?), but didn't think they were sound fitted ?
Definitely added to my want list now

Hi - I have the Bachmann Midland Pullman 6 car set (not currently running on my layout due to era change)............to fit sound properly you need a separate decoder for each Power car ( ie 2-off)........there is somewhere out there an actual Pullman sound project which is really good, but at £125 X 2 for Loksound decoders I couldn't really justify it.

Instead I cheated and managed to get hold of a dual Hormby TTS set for the HST - there are two different engine types, so I went for the old one as I figured it might sound closer to the Pullman power plant ( Valenta Paxman is the original engine, which was replaced by an MTU type )...........It is probably not very authentic, but @ £90 for the pair it worked for me and sounds cool as the lead power unit passes and then the other brings up the rear............program to the same address so they move as one, but change the CV29 code on each, so one goes forward whilst the other is in reverse.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @Hound Dog.
I never got why these sort of things need 2 decoders, apart from sound location I guess. But if its always run one direction wouldn't one do it ?

Bit of a mute point as all he ones I have found for sale are over my budget ATM. I lost out on an auction on one by a fiver because I wasnt home to bid live
