Hello All,
Watching a television series here in AU Train Restoration Australia. Great series although I have missed the first part unfortunately. Hopefully there will be a repeat.
The second part dealt with us actually building and repairing diesel electric locos. I had no idea we built locos here in this country. Normally anything like heavy building is purchased overseas as successive useless governments have abandoned any like home grown building.
Last nights episode was concerned with mega trains carry iron ore and wheat in WA. 2.7 kilometers of train is a pretty impressive sight 3 engines one up front 2 pushers. The other part was about an older diesel engine show in NSW displaying streamline diesels and getting them on location through flood waters. I love these particular engines and had no idea so many have survived time.
Next week goes onto steam restoration and really looking forward to this one.
Hopefully the program might find its way to the UK. Not sure how old the program is so it might already have been shown there.

Re: Train restoration Australia.
Is fascinating, especially when it brings personal memories of the past. But yes. The sight of massive loads with locos working hard with teaincrew doing all they can to keep them going!... Impressive!
