Re: Booted out of Facebook

Alrhough I don't know much about social networking sites ( purely from my own choice not to know anything about them ) I would definitely say that a complaint needs to be made about their handling of the situation. From my perspective, I would have thought they would have at least tried to contact ...

Re: Booted out of Facebook

Reinstated at lunchtime, then binned again mid afternoon for illegal advertising. Seems like they didn't flush the perp out then. No way of entering discussions with them, just the 1 button appeal method.
I have nothing to advertise only frustration with robot controlled social media.

Booted out of Facebook

Rant starts ... My FB account was recently hacked and the perp(s) posted inappropriate material in my name. Apologies to anyone who had that happen to them - it wasn't me sending it. I never saw any of it, so was at a loss when folk pointed it out. To counter this I changed my password and set up 2 ...

Re: Slide out section positive track alignment.

Number of bolts going into T-nuts in the sides would help with alignment and pulling the layout together. The only issue with that is bolts going through wood will tend to wear the holes and start allowing unwanted movement. A way to get round that is to line the bolt holes with metal tubing but yo...

Re: Slide out section positive track alignment.

Quote - Your other issue is ideally you should have arranged any location dowels before track laying I did, by way of the electrical connectors at the back with stop blocks which locate the back edge, shims under the runners to give vertical alignment and toggle clamps at the front to secure it all....

Bachmann still do trams mostly HK themed.

Re: Slide out section positive track alignment.

All good suggestions... The layout is a U shape with 2 main boards 12 ft x3 ft, joined at the far end by a bolted in 3 ft drop valley. This means the slide in section open end has a bit of flex, maybe enough to allow engagement of some positive locators, which then clamp tight using over centre adju...

Slide out section positive track alignment.

Removable section track alignment. I have a hefty slide out section, due to weight and track geometry being unsuitable for a lifting or hinged section. The images shows there are twin tracks on bridges at two levels. Rail alignment is currently by copper-clad sleepers and reliant upon the bridges no...

Re: Encouragement in the Hobby

Agreed. We are into 2 to 3 generations of bad parenting and ASBO seems to be a post nominal for many kids thrown out of school. Then you meet many other very polite kids helping at various events, volunteering at attractions and generally setting a good standard. i often comment on how friendly and ...

Re: HM7040 Dongle

The dongle is linked to the app, then each regular decoder equipped loco is listed in the engine shed and assigned to the dongle. App commands to those locos are received by the dongle and passed to the DCC controller which signals the rails as usual. There is no limit to the number of locos assigne...
