Re: WEST ORTON
Nice job and splendid looking lifeboat…….. although perhaps a bit of overkill for the size of estuary - just as well you didn’t have a model of the QE2 kicking around - LOL

Re: Accurascale class 50, is it worth it?
Hi David,
I have been thinking about buying an Accurascale Class 50 and have come close to pressing the buy button a few times, but the only one that would fit with the era's I model would be in standard BR Blue, although I do confess to liking the Green Edward Elgar version, but it would just be ...

Re: Montgreenan
Hi Guys,
Having recently dabbled for the first time with a bit of weathering on my class 08 repaint, I was keen to have another go and I had an old Wrenn Class 20 that I bought for £20 at a show and took the motor out to allow it to run as a slave to pair with a Bachmann class 20…… they always look ...

Re: Montgreenan
Thanks Guys for all the positive feedback…. Hoping to do some more weathering across other items of rolling stock……. Cannot speak highly enough of the effect obtained by applying good old soot from the fireplace / woodburner which gives a lovely grimy effect when brushed very lightly over a surface ...

Hi Barry,
As somebody who many years ago used to sell several hundred thousand feet of ribbon cable every week to customers producing assemblies for IBM / Compaq…….. you should be able to split out the three conductors into individual wires close to the termination point to make it much easier to ...

Re: The Industrial Railways of Skye and Adjacent Islands
No I haven't tried any Malts from Raasay........currently I am hooked on the "Hearch" from the Isle of Harris, but now only have a bottle left from the very first batch which I am saving to drink with my grandson, "Harris" when he is 21 years old........his first birthday is next month, so I will ...

Re: Midland Pullman Bachmann 31-255
Hi - I have the Bachmann Midland Pullman 6 car set (not currently running on my layout due to era change)............to fit sound properly you need a separate decoder for each Power car ( ie 2-off)........there is somewhere out there an actual Pullman sound project which is really good, but at £125 ...

Re: The Industrial Railways of Skye and Adjacent Islands
Roger - thanks for posting ........very interesting - been in Skye and the Hebrides many times and never considered that there could have been a railway of any sorts across the water.

Montgreenan - Addition of a shunter
Hi - Decided a few weeks back to switch the layout over from Portencross ( 1960's Diesel Hydraulics) to the original Montgreenan (1980's BR Blue) and have been busy getting reacquainted with some old friends. Having the BR Blue fleet out again served to highlight a glaring omission in that I did not ...

Re: Diesels at Crown Point.
Go easy my friend…….. The Diesel’s can idle in a siding until you are fit and ready…….. might get complaints from the neighbours however.
