I have been on the forum every time I picked up the iPad this morning and no problems accessing the site. I will try some more this pm. but I have to say since the backup issue access has been instant every time.

Admittedly I am on Android and have the 'remember me' box ticked on the sign in page, but no issues to report regards opening the forum.

Can I ask please, as it has previously been discovered and confirmed that the bots often cause problems with the forum and possibly other forums aswell, is there any possible way to ban access to the bots or do they have to have permanent access ?

I just thought I would ask as to me ( even though I am no tech expert by any means ) if the bots are the cause of problems on forums, it makes sense that there is potentially a way to ban them from having access.

What do you think ?

Stese is the one to answer this one, but in general terms the initial entry has been toughened up recently. If they get past that, the mods run a couple of additional checks before making a decision.

There's two types of bot thta we routinely deal with. The first are the type that are trying to create users on the forum to send spam messages/posts etc. We manually approve all new members to prevent them getting access.

The other type, which I think you are referring to, are the ones listed on the main page. These are mainly from search engines looking to read the site and include the results in searches.

It is possible one or more of these are causing issues and i will directly investigate these.

Thanks again.
