So if no permanent discount what is the advantage(s) of joining the club?

I see where you re coming from Steve. I have never done a pre order except from the NRM where they said pre orders only. So I suppose it can have an advantage doing pre orders. Thanks for putting me right Steve.................John

I agree - I can see no advantage at all. R-

Club exclusive model at about £30 below normal price, magazine etc. The Club discount will be back I reckon. If you buy the loco you have more than got your money back. I shall give it a go this year and see how it goes.

I hope you are right, it would make the Club much more attractive if the discount returned. I guess at the moment Hornby are trying to get as much cash as possible into the coffers. R-

Forgot to mention, you get a badge. Some people on the other forum were getting paranoid because the badge hadn’t arrived. Think mine went in the bin with the envelope.

Club exclusive model suggests it's their choice and if you don't want it tough luck. And a badge, whoopy doo.

Sorry if I sound negative but without a permanent discount I really dont see the point.

Look TWD you don’t have to join. Some people love joining clubs some dont. Bit like Motocycles, some people think they are great others think only idiots ride them. The fact you think the club is rubbish is your choice. I joined this year to see what it is like. Many will join because of the club loco. Some will join depending what the loco is. I’m not getting one,
